Association Update – September
Visits, Workshops, Meetings and Accolades!
Planning has begun for member visits and regional meetings, with visits to the South Island, Manawatu, and Hawkes Bay Members to be conducted before December. A Regional Meeting is to be held in Christchurch at Signtech the Signmasters on the 27th of October to celebrate their 30-year being in business anniversary. Signtech welcomes local and out-of-town sign makers to join them at their workplace where they will conduct a site tour with a few tipples and eats. We will also have some experts come along to share the benefits of workplace Health Insurance and tips on getting on top of your debtors.
Furthermore, we will be holding our first seminar series workshops with the Safety Charter in Christchurch in early November. All the seminar series will be videoed and held every 3 months. They will form part of our online resources for Health and Safety for all our members to access. The seminars will be specific to the Sign Industry, with the first session covering topics such as the importance of having a health and Safety Rep in your workplace, What you need to know for onsite compliance, and why safe work practices will save your business.
A schedule will be out in early 2024 with our dates for the Regional Meetings in the Bay of Plenty (Tauranga), Auckland (North Shore), Hamilton, Taranaki (New Plymouth), Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. As announced at our Annual General Meeting we will be recognising our members who have committed to the Association for 10 plus years with a certificate of acknowledgment endorsed by the NZSDA President, Shae Goom who will also present the award to each member.
