Position title: Training & Communications Officer
Reports to: Secretary and Executive Board
Internal relationships: Board / Secretary / Marketing & Events Co-ordinator
External relationships: Members, suppliers, sponsors, civil servants / government departments, schools,
training establishments, contractors, other related industries

Organisational summary:
The NZ Sign and Display Association is the trade organisation for the Sign and Display manufacturing industry.
We lead the industry, advocating with regulators, authorities and industry partners to motivate and inspire our
members to succeed and promote excellence in quality of workmanship and best practice in a safe industry
environment for our community.
Key purpose of the role:
This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to support and lead our new training programme on a national
level. In this role you will own and develop training programs that will help our industry grow and our people
to further develop their skill sets in their day to day roles.
Some of the key aspects of this role will be to maintain and implement the design, the course content and to
communicate training programs, processes and procedures in conjunction with the Executive boards
organisational goals. You will be responsible for documenting and maintaining training requirements and
records and ensuring these are always in an audit-ready state. You will also be involved in various internal and
external meeting groups to establish the associations set vision and goals.
Furthermore you will be required to help develop new marketing strategies and ideas for our growing
association and industry within New Zealand and to assist with the administration and event planning training
and workshop processes alongside the secretary when required.
We are looking for the following in your skills toolbox:
* Relevant experience and qualifications in training assessment and delivery
* Must have or can work towards an NZQA Unit Standard 4098, which is used to assess candidate
performance.
* Experience in developing and maintaining training documentation and systems
ie. Learndash and WordPress
* Knowledge of workplace training an advantage
* High computer proficiency in all Microsoft programs
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and planning skills
* A self-starter, go getter and a doer
Hours of work:
The role will be a contract position to begin with until the role gathers momentum. Your working hours may
comprise or begin with 15-30 hours per week. We are flexible about where and when the hours are
completed, but ideally between 9.00am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday. There will be the requirement for
flexibility, overtime and travel as required.
This is an exciting new and varied role that would suit someone with previous training development and
administrative experience who is looking for flexible part-time hours within an established and reputable
Association.
