A few months back The Hawkes Bay Bird & Wildlife Rescue approached the Hawkes Bay Branch of the NZSDA about wrapping a new vehicle that they had acquired. I approached the NZSDA members of the Hawkes Bay branch about donating their services for this good cause and at the same time thought it was a great opportunity to offer some of the local young Hawkes Bay Signies to get stuck in and “give it a go”, with the guidance and support of the more experienced local Sign makers as well.
So with the help of some local designers and photographers, Jessica Maxwell the Trust organiser came up with a pretty cool design. We approached Jenrite to see if they would be keen to provide the vinyl, of which they jumped at the chance and without hesitation. Nelson Signs assisted us to get the show on the road with their HP Latex printer and once printed it was wrapping time, which proved to be another opportunity for us to have an NZSDA get together, as well as few quite ones and a BBQ.
The doantions kept on rolling in as soon as word hit the street, with Pak n Save Napier city supplying the sausages and bread rolls, a succulent piece of lamb was thrown in by Aaron from Hayter & Fleming and a couple of dozen beers were left in the back of the van by the Wildlife Rescue … sorted! On the 19th February we all got together at Wilsigns to get down to business.
A very big thanks to Wilsigns, Nelson Signs, Branded , Hayter & Fleming, & Probert Signs. We got it done, without a hitch! Well done team, on giving back to a good cause.
Good Signing, Ross Probert.
